97-01 JDM Type-S intake on a 4Gen?

I'm talking about the air filter to the TB, not the intake manifold. Some people represent this as working on a 4Gen, others say the wheelbase difference keeps it from fitting, some of that difference is in the engine bay. Has anyone here tried to fit on on their 4Gen?

there are some dyno plots in the NA forum...

but for most ppl, either are the top choices (maybe bpi flowstack along with this as well)

but when you are comparing the two, I honestly believe you are splitting hairs. intakes only provide so much gains and then its off to other things.

seems like the most ppl who discuss intakes are novice users who only hear about intaks and think its going to make your car 1 second quicker in the 0-60.... no disrespect to OP but that just seems like the on going trend.

yah, that's what i was thinking as well. i mean...i did have noteable differances when installing my v2..but it wasnt anything too drastic. in either case ill probabely trade my v2 for a type s just because aesthetically it looks more pleasing inside the engine bay.

I forget the end results, but I think it was Joon525 who tried to fit a CAI in the Type S intake.

I have the Type S intake and strut bar. It's a night and day difference with noise compared to the V2.

yah, im deffinately going for the type s. my car's semi loud (for my tastes) so hopefully the type s will reduce the overall growl.

I only really did that for size comparison's sake. I didn't try to run the car like that.
