96 shocks and springs???

quick question?
so I was looking into getting the
Ground Control conversion kit
with Koni Sport Yellow Shocks
Ground Control - Coilover Conversion kit, 92- Honda Prelude
Koni Sport Yellow Shocks Honda Prelude 1992-1996 Rear KON-8041-1155SPORT

totals to almost $950.00 dollars which is more than the Ksport Pro coilover damper kit Ksport Kontrol Pro Coilover Damper Kit Honda Prelude BB1 1992-1996 CHD17-KP

what do you guys think about the Ksports because i was really looking into the G.C and Koni yellows setup

any other ideas or any links to a better priced retailer?

Depends what you want.

Did you search and just saw we all said to just get gc/koni's for the money / performance?

All jdm coilovers are more bling than actual performance. Don't get me wrong they are better than stock, but it just depends what you are going for.

If you can't afford, either wait or buy some kyb + other springs.

The reason the Koni yellow's are worth the money is that they can be custom valved, and they have a great customer service division located within the U.S. that offers rebuild services.

If you're not planning on taking it to the track and will just be driving on the street (majority of people), then you can save yourself some money and go with KYB AGX's or Tokico Illumina's.

I have GC coilover / Tokico illumina setup with Eibach springs and I am happy enough with it. The ride is pretty harsh, but that is because I have to leave the shocks on "5" all the time to reduce tire rubbing with my 18" wheels and 1.5" drop. I can take a curve fast enough to scare the sh*t out of my passengers with my setup...that's good enough for me.

Well I just want something that is reliable for a couple years and have good drive (2 max 3). Yeah I have been searching and most people say the GC/KONI’s and the Tokico Illumina’s ect. Though I wanted some feedback on the Ksport’s because a local shop said there “good” for daily driving (value for money). Some other shop said Tein Basic’s are “good” as well but they all got me confused because one of the guys there said the Function & Form Type-1’s had a decent one year warranty, and that the F&F type 1’s have a smooth drive. I am not planning to track my car or anything for that matter, so I’m not spending more than $1000 on a suspension I’m not going to need and use to its fullest. I just need a 1.5-2 inch drop with a smooth drive. (nothing to harsh)

^what's a good ride to you could be a different ride for me.

I don't know what to tell you other than this topic has been discussed many times.

So your end goal is to drop 1.5 - 2 inches. You don't want to spend $1000 (even though it's not that much for koni / gc used) but you are willing to spend ~$700 for coilovers. I mean at that point isn't it all immaterial?

You are getting all opinions across the board because everyone has their own opinon and there aren't that many people who buy 5 different suspension setups. So it's almost trial and error.

With GC / Koni's at least you can revalve them and buy different springs from a variety of places, you can revalve the others but you have a smaller selection of springs.

I've had my Tokico/GC setup for a while. No complaints. I kind of miss having my oem suspension though, I'm getting tired of the stiffness
