95 Prelude Se Having problems with brakes and stock speakers.

I brought a 95 Prelude Se from a guy about 2 weeks ago it has 150k mileage on it. I already spent 120 on gas but thats because I like to floor it. I have some picturesSoon to be a prelude owner needs help of the car in this thread.

The first problem I have right now is with the brakes. Before the abs light was not on but when im on a hill the brakes slip and the brake pedal continously depresses the longer I hold it. Now the abs light is on but there is no difference in the brake perfomance. The last owner told me he changed all the pads and the rear calipers but the rear calipers looks like some ****ty used ones.

I have two aftermarket speakers in the back but they are the only ones that work none of the stock spears work does anyone know why by any chance or have an idea?

Also I got minimal rust in the quarter panels but the mechanic I usually go to says it would cost 600 dollars to fix wtf. I know his trying to make a profit but is that even reasonable? Any way I can do it myself? I know I need to cut out the old metal and put in some sheet metal I can pay someone for the paint job.

ok i dont know nothing about your brake problem.

Chances are the reason your stock speakers arent working is probaly because they are blown, I mean your car is just about 16 years old.

How bad is the rust? Is it completly threw? Is it just on the surface? If it hasnt eaten threw the metal, they make rust o noleum (somthing like that) i got some from wallmart. It worked very well. When you apply it and let it dry, It will dry black on the rust. Then you will have to sand, primer and paint. But your rust will be stopped. If you want to go the other route which is more exspensive you can. They will cut out the metal that is rusted and weld a new peice of metal in its place.

check the hoses, check the brake fluid. Looks like your pads are not grabbing or the calipers lock. I'm not sure if your abs system is messed up because I have a base model and mine doesn't have abs. Are you stick or auto?

edit*** if your panel is not completely eaten through, you should have some metal on the inner part of the panel, if this is the case you can fix this easily.

get a dremel, cut and scrape out any rust you have. Get some bondo, fill and sand. I wont explain the whole process but you can look it up online anywhere.
When you are ready for paint go to a dealership and get touch-up paint, give them your color code, its on the drivers side door jamb.

This is a fast fix and it will look million times better than the stupid rust and you wont have to spend 600 bucks to weld on sheet metal.

Bondo is one ****ty way to fix rust, the reason why you were told so much is probably because they're going to do it right which is to cut the metal out, weld new metal in and paint.

Remove the radio and look for a blue connector that only has 2 wires behind it, stick a paperclip in the plug and jump the 2 wires, turn the key on but don't start the motor and the ABS light will flash giving you a trouble code, come back with the code and I can help from there.

he doesn't wanna spend hundreds of dollars to weld plates. He was quoted at $600, and that's actually cheap. Places where I live charge a grand easily, and some places tell you BS like, they need to repaint the whole car lol.

Bondo will hold up for a few years, and when it gets messed up a little, you do it again. And a few years later you do it again. This is the only way for people who don't wanna spend money to weld plates.

It has 149000 miles on it but its real strong. I think the guage cluster might need to be changed because ever once in a while i have to tap on the speedometer otherwise it stays on 0
