'95 idling problem

'95 prelude SI with 190k miles on it. the car started up fine but when driving for a few mins, at idle, the rpm would go fluctuate from 1k to 1.5k and down again and again...... change out the IAC valve but it still persists.... HELP!

maybe it could be the thermostat being fishy.

what^? You're not supposed to run anything BUT 91 in the ludes. Anywho the main culprit for idle flux's is ususally the fitv. You need to take off your intake and observe the 2 holes in your TB. You'll be checking for suction, it's a simple test in the helms if you have it. The fitv is the little device right under your TB and it has coolant hoses running through it. If it's not that it could be a vacuum leak. Theres a HUGE thread if you search that's a few pages long covering idle issues.
