94 SI tranny + 93 VTEC engine=???

Hey guys, I was told that it is possible to mate a 94 SI tranny and a 93 VTEC engine. Does anyone know if this is true and if so what are the pros and cons of doin this? I want to know if I really need to spring for a vtec tranny and if I will power.

The Si tranny will bolt right up to the VTEC engine. There was some discussion of the pro's and con's of doing it, about 2 or 3 months back. I really don't recall what exactly they were. But you shouldn't have a problem mating the two.

Someone had even brought up the idea of an accord tranny to attain higher speeds with lower rev's... this was a long time ago though.. might have been on SHO. Hope that helps you a bit

thats my current setup. however since i installed the jdm h22, i've had problems. the main one being the blown differential. i stripped the spider gears completely in the planetary gear set. maybe its the vtec? i dunno. too much for the si tranny to handle maybe. but there are others out there with this setup too with no problems, i think my car is just prone to bad things. you know what they say, when you do sh*t in your car...

I don't think that there is any way that the H23 tranny isn't strong enough to handle an H22A motor. If so then people runnin turbos and nos to H23's would have your problem too but in a worse way. I bet if u replaced your tranny with a good 1 you'd have no problems at all for a long time.
