94 prelude A/C and Power Steering Question

How can I take off my A/C and A/C lines so i can run my set up without a/c. Also how can i bypass my power steering pump so i won't have to have a power steering pump. Thanks

H22a in a 94 prelude

If you really want to get the true benefit of lighter weight and less parasitic loss from the A/C you have to remove the dash to get at the evaporator, the stuff under the hood is easy........

Now your P/S pump and assembly is easier but still not gravy. The P/S is speed sensitive and you have to block off the connection at the VSS and where the lines run into your rack.

If I block off the VSS (VSS?) and where the lines run into your rack (Rack?) then I won't have to worry about the p/s pump or belt. Also Is it challenging taking off the evaporator?

Thanks

Evaporator is easy to take off, but it weighs very little. The heater core requires dash removal I believe.

Unless this is a dedicated track car, you should just leave the PS pump off and buy a shorter belt to bypass the a/c compressor. If you ever want either back, then its going to be much harder to reinstall everything. Heck you might want to drive with the PS belt off for a few days. Its not much fun

VSS = Vehicle speed sensor
rack = Steering rack

yes if you block those off you can remove the pump and belt completely

+1 My rack started pouring the fluid as fast as you could fill it so I'm driving with the belt off until I have time to install a new rack to not burn up the pump and it ain't fun on a street car. Another word of advice is the ladies aren't gonna like your ride when they're sweatin in the summer and freezin in the winter.
