94 EL to JDM EL

I have got some JDM EL guages for free, and im wandering what I need to do to get them to fit into my 94 si. One reason im switching is my rpm guage on my usdm guage reads wrong, about 1600rpm too low. So I want to make sure that whatever parts I am swapping from cluster to cluster will fix that problem. Has anyone done this, and does anyone have pictures of what I need to switch over? Or is it possible to get the whole cluster to fit into the left hand spot? Thank you.

the cluster wont fit but you should be able to move the tach and speed mechanisms and the gaguge face over

The needles will swap over, as will the gauge face. The housing will not fit. If you swap the entire internals over, the wiring is different.

I told you this already.

yeah i had it....i swapped faces/needles (you'll have to trim some of the corners of the jdm faces to get it to fit)

Doesn't the JDM face read only in km/h though? That is what kept me from swapping the face over....

Yes. The Canadian gauges read MPH and KMH. Others might, as well, but this I am unsure of. He's going for a totally JDM look, so KMH probably doesn't matter that much, especially since he never looks at it anyways.

alright, but just swapping the faces/needles over wont fix my rpm reading tho will it? And if I was to swap the rpm mechanism inside the jdm to the usdm, the wiring is going to be different correct? Will there be a way to wire it up correct if I swapped mechanisms?

I swapped the jdm faces and needles over to the usdm cluster. There was some cutting of the faces involved as DOHCVTEC190 said. Everything is working great, except for my rpm guage is still messed up. But now, instead of it being 1600 low, its about 800 low. How did swapping the needles over just fix it a little bit? What else can I do to maybe bring my rpm back to the right setting?

after looking at both faces...the usdm goes to 140 mph and the jdm only goes to 190 kmh...which is only 118 mph. 140mph and 190kmh are in the same spot....so swapping the faces/needles over really doesn't do anything for you except give you kmh that doesn't read correctly. So you really get to guess your speed then. I figured the needle moved the same distance for both mph and kmh, i figured they made the difference in how far they spaced out the numbers. But alas, they don't. I guess the only way to get it to work is swapping the circuit boards on the back over to the usdm cluster, and rewiring the whole thing. I'm sticking my usdm faces back in tho after all this, its a shame.

Maybe Bertico's are Canadian? Reason I say, is because JDM Preludes are speed limited at 118mph.
