I am having a stalling issue with my 93 Prelude Si 5 speed. I had a bad crank positioning sensor in the distributor. I bought a used one from a guy on here and the housing did not work correct so I took the internals out and put them into my H23 housing. It fixed the problem but now there is another problem almost exactly like it but it RARELY happens and I will explain the difference.
It will stall if I am driving or at idle and has only done it 3 times in the past 150-170 miles or so. The oil and battery light come on and it dies almost instant or at the same time as the lights coming on. It will immediately start back up and not do it again.
When I had this problem before with the crank sensor, it would drop rpms and just quit and the engine light, oil and battery, etc would come on. Now it just shuts right off with NO warning and only the battery and oil light come on.

Any help, suggestions or info would be greatly appreciated in advance!

A good place to start would be to get a NEW CPS with the correct housing and internals. Then go from there. If your CEL comes on, hook up a reader and pull the code(s) and go from there.

The CEL does not come on this time like it used to. Just the Oil and Battery light, nothing else.

mine was just dying out of the blue and seems like a new ICM fixed the problem for me.
