93 h23 timing belt help/ rookie

Did a search guys, got some info and the manual, but still have a few questions.

Changing the timing belt on a 93 2.3 Prelude. Timing marks through the inspection hole are lined up, number 1 on TDC. Now to line up the cam gears with the plane of the head (very *** setup) I just pinned the cams through the holders. I can't believe what a pain it is to fit the belt on there even with the tensioner backed all the way off. I was struggling to get the belt onto the whole setup without moving the crankshaft from TDC. Every time I put tension on the belt to get it on the cam gears, it moves the marks from TDC.

I think I may have got it, but now am having a hard time getting the belt to tighten up without slipping on the cam gears while trying to set it up tension wise. ANY tips are greatly appreciated!

If I remember correctly, you lock the rear balancer shaft. This also prevents the crankshaft from moving.

It also helps to have a help, but it gets easier with practice.
