93 fuel and temperture gauge problem! Help Please....

The fuel and temperature gauges in my 93 which are "Lights" has quit working correctly. After the car has sit for a while (like over night), once you start the car the gauges are blacked out.... If you drive the car for about 15 minutes, the lights/gauges start to appear until you drive for about 45 minutes they are bright again like nothing is wrong. You can stop and restart the are and they remain bright...... BUT if it sits overnight or for a couple hours, they are dim/off again.

This started happening after I had to replace a dead battery when the car sat for 2 months with the clutch out.

Please tell me this is an easy fix. I have about spent more money on this thing than I want too.....

Thanks,
Jamie

Surely I am not the only one that has had this problem?
