93 Crankshaft Pulley Bolt Thread Question

Hi from rainy England.

My first post here. I've been reading the forum and I can't seem to find the answer to this question, so I thought I'd best join up and ask.

The question is on behalf of a friend of mine. He's got a '93 Prelude 2.2 16v and needs to change the timing belt. The car has been imported into the UK from Japan at some point, and I'm told there may be differences between this and similar models sold retail in the UK. He said someone told him the crankshaft pulley bolt might have an anti clockwise thread on it. I have no idea if this is correct or not, but obviously he needs to know for sure before he tries to undo it. We have looked up the instructions in 2 different books (Autodata and a garage timing belt book) and although they are fairly helpful, they don't mention whether or not the crankshaft pulley bolt is a standard or anti clockwise thread (plus we don't know if the spec for his car is the same as that for UK market cars).

If anyone on here can let me know, I'll be extremely grateful and pass the answer onto him (he doesn't have computers or internet).

Any info gratefully recieved.

No honda motor has a counterclockwise crank pulley bolt pitch. I just did my JDM h22a last week and it was lefty loosey righty tighty. Make sure you have the crank pulley holder tool and a good breaker bar to bust it loose. Its on there pretty freaking tight.
