92 Si for $2000?

I have a chance to get a 92 Si for $2000 but it's an automatic. I took a look at it for my friend because she was gonna buy it but she decided not to(she's short and says there's too many blind spots). The paint is faded which i not a big deal to me, but there is a little bit of oil leaking on the exhaust manifold right by the o2 sensor bung. it's not a lot though(there's NOT a puddle after the car sits for a while). it shifts a little harsh but has 131k so i don't expect it to be super smooth. i've been saving up to buy a project car but was originally thinking about a dsm or 240. decisions, decisions...any advice?

do it... that is a GREAT price for this car. it's easily worth twice that much or more. if anything, fix it up and sell for profit.

i got my 92 auto si for 2000 also...i would get it and do as much to it as you can...i would love to have another car to start another project for and 2000 is a good price for most project cars...unless you get a junkyard car for 500 of course

Buy it, fix it, sell it.

Then buy a 240.

yeah, but did you look where he lives? The shipping cost would be so much... it wouldn't be worth it for him, even if you sold it all to him cheap.

Why does everyone say get a 240? Just because it's RWD?

I noticed you mentioned a DSM as a project you were considering.. I'm putting mine on eBay tonight. It's a 90 GS-T with mods, I'm looking to get around $1500. If you want to buy it before it goes on eBay let me know ASAP!

Probably because they're one of the best platforms to modify. It's cheap and can easily be made fast, plus it's RWD.

yeah the reason i want a 240 is because it's RWD. i was checking out miatas, and i almost picked up an 87 bmw 325i with a blown engine for super cheap, but my friend's dad sold it to the junkyard before she told him that i wanted it. oh well. i don't think the guy has sold the prelude yet so i might get it if he still has it.

4th gen preludes look way better though. And it's Honda, not Nissan.

If I wasnt trying to build a racing demon, i'd take a PRelude over a 240 anyday.

Luxurious and sporty..whereas a 240 is very rough around the edges..

Now for speed.. 240.
