92 prelude SR idle problems.

Hey my names Joey and i just registered on this board not too long ago. I have a 92 prelude SR with 180,000km on it, and ive been having a lot of idle problems. i just changed the plugs, wires, i put a p-flow in, and the pcv valve has been changed. This is what happens. Sometimes, and i stress only sometimes, my idles dips down and the car starts to shake,. Then what i do is i rev my engine past 5,500 rpm and the shaking stops for a little while and it idles normally, but then it will drop again, and if i try accelerating with the ilde low, it'll take off very shaky and rumbly... and while it idles very low it will smell of gas and whatnot. it happens every couple of minutes and whatnot.. its confusing and frustrating to say the least

Can U guys PLZ help me out?

Thanks
Joey

Ok heres what you do: take off your intake and look in the throttle body. There will be 2 vacuum holes on the left. Turn your car on. Go and cover those two holes with your fingers. If the bad idle stops then you need a new throttle body cause you cant buy the sensors separate. Please pm me with the results. dont worry if it doesnt work because i know lots of other things it could be, but throttle body is most common!!!!

Tracy.......yes im a frikin guy!!!!!!!!!

I would say check the normal causes of rough or irratic idle. Clean the IAC screen filter, and let your radiator sit uncapped for 10 minutes to allow any possible trapped air to escape. If these dont help then at least you can mark those two causes off the list.
