Well i decided i should just go ahead and make a new thread to post all of the stuff ill be doing to this new project car.
I picked this car up for 800$. Its a 92 Azure Blue(purple) S model. It was side swiped while Parked on the side of the street. I knew it would be totaled or towed so i started leaving notes that i wanted to buy it. Eventually i got a reply and worked a deal. Engine runs strong.
First Project is pulling all the parts off it so i can put my Red lude back to stock and seel her off. Almost makes me cry but this is the best way. I hopefully will have the engine swapped by this weekend and the red car running and out of the garage.
This car is not a daily driver so technically i have as much time as i need. The car will really have 2 evolutions. First She will be built for the 1/4 mile. Im looking to Top out at 13.9. Thats good enough for me. So it will be NA. I honestly dont think it will take me too much to reach that. I have all the mods, i just need to get the car cleaned up and the engine rebuilt.
Some of my current plans for the car, She will have a hybrid motor(this is going to be a problem later when i want to get into Honda Challenge, but ill deal with that when the time comes around.
-removed heater core and hoses- also all under the dash pieces.
-no ac or PS
-Cruise will be gone
-relocate battery to trunk.
-Custom wiring harness.(im going to pull the wires through the firewall behind the IM, that way there hidden and take up less space)
-I gota do some Body work
-New Paint, ill do the painting, she will be EGP(Eucuplitus Green(grey) Pearl), the car will be totally stripped so the interrior and under the hood will get painted.
-Thinking CF hood, painted with the Middle section with just clear coat.
- Rims- Im thinking 15inch, not sure what brand yet, looking for hookup now.
-i need to pick up a jdm trans with lsd
-Custom gauge Pod where the AC/Heater Controls used to live.
-Gota Strip the tint
+more i cannot think of now.
Engine
Jdm h22a Block
H23 Crank
Forged h23 rods
Arp Bolts
Balanced
pistons(not sure h22a or type S)
VTec head with slight clean up, most likely minimum to keep it for h2
Removed Balancer Shafts w/caps w/plugged Cap.
Water pipe welded where the heater hose was connected.
All the basic engine mods
Rs*R header
jdm downpipe
custom 2.25 exhaust with Magnaflow muffler.
CAI
C&R radiator
energy inserts
Ill be using my programmed ecu, but im sure Vafc or possibly Hondata will be needed
Ill be documenting my changes, also lots of pictures.
Most of my plans require more time than $$ so that always helps.
Im sure by the end, ill have changed my mind soo many times that this project will be totally different but, whatever, this is for fun. Also this car will most likely only hit the street for Lude meets and track days, so im not too sure what ill do about registation.

VIP, man is that Matts Car? Man i dont know if i can handle seeing you drive it. I have had some good times racing with that car, even tho i was always faster when he wasnt spraying. As for Hp, im Honestly looking for about 200 to the wheel, nothing Amazing
Ancient, My ECU a Jdm p13 with a ""Mugen Program"" I get alot of flames every time i say thats what im using but its been good to me.
Hein, since ill be selling my red lude, i should have a good $3000 to work with right off the top. She doesnt really mind too much when we talk Car, but it bores her. I already have spent most of the money modding the red car, so all of my current mods will follow over to the purple car. That brings my costs down pretty low. Im not expecting to to spend all that much $$, but that 3k$ will set me off nicely. First thing will be getting the body work done and getting her painted. Ill most likely be getting the engine togheter at the same time.

OK so today i had to work, i was planning on getting the engine out of the Purple car and into the red, but since im stuck with my 2 yr old tonight. I only got about 10 minutes in before my wife went to work. I got my car lifted a bit higher. Removed the 3 bolts on the Intermediate shaft and 2 bolts that connect the exhaust to the block. Also that lone rear connector near the PS rack. So if i get a chance tonight or possibly tomorrow, ill pop out those Axels remove that rear Hose, remove the 3 bolts on header, remove the clutch Hydrolic line, then Motor mounts and remove this biiiach. Im thinking i got like 45 mins of work left. Easy stuff. Ill get some pics later

Ok between all of the driving around today, watching my kids and having lunch with my wife. I managed to get a few hours in. I ran into one annoying issue, one of the studs connecting my header to my downpipe was stripped in a section, so it took me a at least an hour to get off. But finally i got the engine out, and layed into the red car. So all i gota do now is hook up all the motor mounts and a few misc parts. Shouldnt take too long, i just need some time to do it. I didnt get the pics again, but ill get some soon.

It was sitting near the Bidge on Sierra highway. Next to the Park Sierra Apartments. Some guy just ran into it, the owner saw it and got his licence plate number, when the cops went to talk to him he said he didnt do it. haha So it was his work vs the owners. So they had no other proof. I guess it didnt damage his car at all. The owner eventually got the cost of the car paid to her for un insured motorist. They didnt total the car, they just paid her out for it. Thats a good thing in my favor.

yea, haha that must have been near the tow company. The car got towed, she paid and got it out, then got it towed later
Nice pics man, were you taking pics of the battle wounds or interested in the car? Or were you the sucker that hit it. haha, no more drinking and driving for you.

Ryan (cd55's) car got hit just like that a couple years ago. I was going to post the pics and make fun of him... But I'm glad to see another lude not going to the scrap heap.
Good luck w/ the project.
If you need any help on the weekends, give me a call, though I have been pretty busy lately.
Ok i got a few hours in the garage today. Mounted the engine, and basically got everything hooked up. Not really sure how long i worked. I think i can fire her up if i want right now, just add some water to the radiator. I was feeling a little light headed and thirsty so i went upstairs for a break, well good and bad timing there, time for my wife to go to work. That means i gota watch the kids now. But engine is good to go in the red car, all i really need to do is finish swapping that evap box from the purple car and pop in the axels and the one bolt to each suspension. Really easy. But i do have one hard thing to do. I gota drop the exhaust from both cars. Im swapping the stock exhaust from the Purple car so i can keep my custom 2.25. Its too loud to sell anyway. So soon ill have at least 1 running prelude. I gota do a few repairs so its back to stock. but no biggie.

Ok good news and bad news. I finally got up this morning and worked on the red car. First i finished hooking up all of the smog equip, then added my Ps Belt and Alt belt. Then added the cruse control back in. Made sure everything looked correct. Connected the rear Heater hose. Completely removed the exhaust, as one piece. Removed the exhaust from the purple car and mounted it up to the red. Connected my axels and put the crown nut back on and cotter pin. I had to rebuild the passenger side axel since i pulled it out of the socket at one point. Bolted on the tires and put the car back on it own weight. Everything was connected. So i took that point to lunch it. After lunch i added some water and started her up. Turned about 7-8 times then fired up. No cel, no studder, no pulsing idle. Just smooth. So i let her run for about 10 mins. Put the hood back on. AFter that it was off to Kragen for some tranny fluid and clutch fluid. Added the transmission fluid and ran out of time. So all i need to do is bleed the clutch and shes on the road.
Im feeling pretty sad, this car had such a sexy engine bay, with all my mods and Vtec engine. This old f22 really does not do it Justice.
On a side note. I got another letter from Honda, they seem to want my car for some reason. Wierd. Ill see what they want to give me for it. Maby ill trade it in with the accord and get a new ride. Thats not a bad idea.
Ill get some pics, i just have been soo busy working i have not had time.

Ok bleed the clutch tonight and took her for a drive. Not bad, not bad at all. I did end up throwing a cel tho. Its a 17, i believe thats for the VSS. I remember tightening it up after adding the trans fluid, but i was rushed so maby i didnt get all the way connected.
Im not sure what i need to do to get this car car ready for sale or trade in. Anyone have any clue what they look for? I should most likely add the inner fender wells back in and also the plastic on the bottom. That should help. Also im not really sure what to do about the AC. How much is it to get it recharged?
I went to take pics, but my battery was dead. PITA. Someone must have been using my camera again.

You got that right. A friend had an S back in the day (bought it new in 1992, about 2 months before I bought my first Lude, a 92 Si!)

I think what is happening is Honda wants to bring a few cars back into the shop and see how they are wearing/aging over long periods of time.
I will be curious to see what is up. Did the letter come from Honda North American? Or your dealer?
