JDM F22B are you sure it's a JDM... i think it's a S model... well how's the engine block look like the VTECS have a big VTEC badge on it.. the si is just a block... and the S is basically the same as the accord engine...
F22b is like the equivalent of the H23 in Japan. It is a 2.2l dohc non vtec motor with 160hp like the h23 but a little less torque, 148ftlbs I think. So to answer your question it is not a S, Si, or vtec motor.
I have a 95 prelude S. It has a sohc engine 2.2 liter, f22a1 which has 135 hp and 142 torque. SI and Vtech's are h22a1 and h23a1 which means its a diffrent series than the f's. So I'm pretty sure its probably a S or unless I could be wrong, it might be a SE. Hope that clears things up a little.
Later
f22b if the JDM engine that came in the base model bb1 prelude in Japan. The japanese never had a SOHC bb1 prelude. I believe that the accords in Japan have these motors also. It is dual cam non vtec 160hp and 148ft/lb of torque... I think the USDM h23 has the same hp rating but a little more torque because of the .1 cc of displacement.
F20B is the Accord type r motor (euro i think) that is the motor with the blue valve cover. Basically it is a 2.0 block with a h22a head, with 11:1 compression ratio.

I am pretty sure that the lowest model 5th gen preludes came with a sohc engine and hubcaps is japan. I thought this was the same with the prelude. Was the 2.0l 4th gen motor only in europe or also in japan?
