when i start modding my car will that go down? and a wai would be better for highway right? anybody have pics on how to do a ghetto intake untill i can buy a nice one after all my work i have to do on this car.
once you start modding that will not change. When you mod you spin the motor faster making better accaration. The only way to change rpms at a given mph you have to change gearing. The harder wayis take the tranny apart and change al the gears to what you want, the easiest way (maybe not the best) to do that is change the wheel tire combo, smaller wheel and tire will result in shorter gearing (better for all motor) larger wheel and tire will give you taller gearing (better for turbo)
anyone correct me if i am wrong
yea, but u gotta keep in mind that the camera is at an angle to the dash, so my rpms and speed r lower. and as i said, that was 4th gear, 5th bring me down to 3.9 - 4k

When I was stock, I was exactly at 4k @ 80mph in 5th gear. Now that I have I/H/E, 4k only brings me to 78mph in 5th gear...
I have a messed up tach anyways, but in 5th gear going 80 mine reads about 45000......I don't know how to fix this problem besides buying an aftermarket tach......my engine doesn't rev this high just the tach reads this
at a stop light it can read 6k but it will remain at a constant idle ??
its done this since I bought and no one knows what is wrong......
Originally posted by dangerzone nothing will change rmp to mph ratio..... only if you change the gear ratio.
I know that, that was why it was so weird to me. Tire pressure is always the same, same conditions, etc. And I know I didn't magically change the gearing . I guess this is just in my situation...
Originally posted by ghettoride so when i get my 17's that should go down, also how do u adjust your speedo with bigger rims?
If you bother to adjust the speedo you will change. I figured out my rims increas overall perimeter by 1-2%. So thats 1-2 mph of going 100. I don't think its anything to worry about the speedo is usally off by a bit at high speeds stock.
