6 months of trial and error. NEED HELP!

Okay so I have a 1992 Prelude S (f22). It all started while I was driving, I down shifted and my RPMs didnt go as high as usual. I slowly lost momentum and pulled to the side of the road. After trying to crank it and getting nothing. I tried putting my hand over the intake to force fuel to the injectors. I dont know if that helped but 5 mins later I got it running and drove it the rest of 5-10 miles to my friends house. But as I pulled away it stuttered and then was able to go 60 with no problem.

The next morning I drove 15-20 miles to my house. I was almost home when I realized it shut off on me as I pulled up to a stop light. I thought it was my fuel filter so I changed it out. It will start and not get far. So I try the fuel pump. Still nothing.

So I did a cel check and it gave me 15 and 41. which is main relay, and o2 sensor. I changed the o2 sensor a year ago. So I changed the relay. Started the car and as I closed the hood to take a test drive, it turns off. I try it again and I get the engine turning but doesnt catch. Ill wait 20 mins and it will start but when I drive it I get out of the driveway and it dies.

PLEASE HELP!

Also the codes keep going away and coming back. and the 41 code has been visible since I changed the sensor.

ALSO I tried swapping out ecu. still nothing.

I might have made an error when putting in the puel pump. But I dont have a lift to check the tank.

solve the CEL's first maybe ur wiring on the o2 sensor arent correct.
did u clean the TB yet? that can cause some stuttering when its clogged and dirty as hell.

what did u do to the main relay? did u resolder it or just replaced it with a new one?

The cels were 15 and 41. I got a new relay and it showed up again as a problem. (also the relay had already been replaced before i owned it. The old old one is still bolted in.

I was going to clean it but didnt want to do something that would cost me a gasket. Money is tight now since Ive spent so much trying different possibles

Probably your TPS, common for that to go out and cause loss of performance, even backfiring out of the intake

Also, putting your hand over the intake only works on carbed engines

I installed a new o2 sensor and it started so I drove it down the street. I parked it back in my driveway and decided to give it one last test. So I turned it off, and tried to start it again. only cranks. again.

Idk why I didn't see this when I pulled the cel. Code 16 is the Ignitor output signal. I found a forum where a guy had the same symptoms at me. Another person responded with the ICM. Which is the small electronic of the Distributor. I had the distributor replaced a year ago. They got me a refurbished one. So I'm guessing it failed due to poor install. Maybe they didnt seal the back of it on well enough.

So I'm getting it looked at tomorrow. The place got me a lifetime warranty with it. I should be driving again tomorrow night x-D
