So as the title says... has anyone done this? Is it hard to do? I'm asking because I just got a deal on 5th gen type S seats and wanted to know if they'll fit in the rear.

I don't think anyone's ever done it.

I mean they have the same basic layout but I don't think they will just "attach"

You will most likely have to do some custom work. Also I think the rear seats in the 5th gen are slightly wider.

Yeah a lot wider. The whole rear seat area in the 4th gen is only about 50 inches without the side bolsters. on the 4th gen they're on the side plastic, but on the 5th, the bolsters are on the seat, in leather or cloth, giving it a good 3-ish inches per side... I always wanted to do it anyway, custom cut a bit out of the back side plastic and fit them in..
If you take the venture, i'd be very interested in pictures!
