Have you tried putting spacers/washers between car roof and sunroof mounting points to bring the sunroof down?

I'm pretty sure you need to put some washers between the sunroof assembly where it bolts to the roof. This effectivley shims the whole shebang downwards, making the moonroof panel level with the roofline. I should have my moonroof here in a few days (thanks BDB), I'll post pics as I install it.

you're putting washers in the wrong places. The washers have to go between the sunroof assembly frame, and where the frame bolts to the car (the frame is the whole piece that has the sunroof and the motor). So between that huge piece, and the top of the car.

This is what I was thinking also. You need to unbolt the ENTIRE ASSEMBLY (frame, panel, motor, etc) from the roof, then reinstall it with some washers between the fram/roof (thereby moving the frame/panel/motor) DOWNWARDS.

It's only been known about for ~ one week. Give the people who arn't afraid to play around with things time to source and install the parts.
