5th gen H22A in a 4th gen prelude?

I need to know if an H22A (from a 2000 prelude) will bolt into my 1994 prelude. I imagine an H22A block of any year would be the same, or it wouldn't be an H22A. Correct? Thanks

the motor out of a 2000 would be an h22a4 just like petern said it will bolt in. just reuse everything out of your car including the wiring harness, distributor, and trans, you will just have to wire the vtec solednoid and vtec pressure switch.

^yeap. h22a (without number) are jdm engines (like me and preludestud have)

there are plenty of threads on this including some good faq pages (i used them myself to install the h22)

do a quick search and you should have no further questions (unless you get a weird idel)

Very good.. Thanks guys. One more thing, which i probably should have mentioned. Is a 5th gen transmission the same fit as the 4th gen and what if I wanted to leave everything on the engine including the new harness and obdII ecu. Basically I can get a front clip from a 2000 lude and wanna put what i can in my 94, which has a bad 2.3, what won't fit?

everything should fit, i'm pretty sure the trans can be used with both engines, so there's no reason why it wouldn't bolt up...

well the 2000 is going to be an H22a4, which is obdII. If it really is an H22a, it may be running OBDI or OBDII, depending on however they decided to do the swap. You need to know exactly what engine you're getting and what OBD setup it was running before you start buying things.

a 2000 H22A4 will swap fine in a 4th gen I have a 2001 H22A4 in my 92. OBD doesn't matter because you'll have to use the 4th gen OBD-I ECU and wire harness.
