i had plans on it, enventually, it might be alil hard, cause theres not much room left once the bolt covers are in, and on top of that, the sliding shade is a whole diff ball game from what i see on my assembly. The slide has its own assembly mounted on the glass assembly. so in order for it to slide back and fourth I would have to find a way to get that assembly on my assembly. I also try to use the whole 5th gen assembly, but that didnt work, its almost the same, but the 5th gen assembly is longer than th 4th. All the bolts and water holes all line up the same as the 4th gen, but the assembly is just too long, so it wont go all the up to fit in. Another idea i came up with was use my stock 4th gen shade to completely cover it up, so it looks like what it did with the metal roof. Its possible, I just havent had the time, but i dont know if i ll do it, cause i kinda like the see through roof, which i m bout to limo tint in a few days so it mimize light entry during the day, but still visible, and complete dark at night.
i ll keep you posted if i do anything.

would you have a bright pic the inside when the sunroof closed? I'm way super interested. Also great work!!! I had been dreaming about this for years and always said that it looked to be a differant shape.
My only concern is that the inside will look like a unfinished garage job. need to figure a way to keep it looking as oem as possible.
Cheers and Beers to Red92s, Si_g, JDMugenBB1 and anyone I missed

Tools: 10mm wrench, long screwdriver or something to pry the liner out from behind, drill for new holes in the brackets, philips screwdriver, handheld grider to take off 5g bump stops
IIRC

First of all sorry I am bumping this ancient thread.
I searched and searched. I can't figure out how to shim the glass so it sits flush. I looked through numerous threads and people say the shimmed their sunroof assembly, but no one explains how to do it.
What exactly do I need to shim? where? what needs to be done?
I have all the writeups and DIY's on this subject. I know how to install the moonroof.
I need a DIY on shimming the assembly. Help me out mates.

I never did the shim myself, but my understanding is that you shim the entire carriage assembly downward from the roof (toward the headliner) to bring the moonroof flush. Try using 1/8" shims. Anything more and you would probably need to use longer bolts.

I am curiously, why need to install glass moonroof when it is like 15-20 pounds more than oem moonroof and plus why bother to install when you have a cover that will not let you see thru the glass??? I know you can remove the cover, but if you do then sun will go thru and make your lude hotter inside. I am just asking ?s to increase my knowledge. Thanks.

LMK if theres any deaf lude owners. I would love to meet yall!
The cover is attached to the metal roof, it doesn't stay with the car. You will have a permanent very darkly tinted glass roof that improves the ambience of the interior a little. When I had my Prelude I never had a problem with the sun being too bright through the moonroof.
You have to remove the headliner to get to the sunroof assembly.

well, I have F22A1 Lude, so I can care less about adding extra weight. This mod is basically for cosmetic appearance. I like the look of the glass better. If you notice the top the roof is mostly the sunroof panel and when you see it next to the windshield and the rear glass it looks like a spaceship. Makes the whole upper portion of the car basically glass. Also metal sunroofs start to rust overtime, mine looks like it's gonna start to rust soon, so the glass makes all the sense in the world. Like the poster above said, sun is not the issue at all, the roof is tinted and you can tint it even more. I plan on doing mine 100% limo tint.
