4th gen harness into 5th gen gauge pod

Okay, here's the deal....
I'm doing an H22A swap into my 3rd gen lude. Instead of doing all the goofy wiring, or trying to make a 4th gen dash fit into my 3rd gen, I was thinking of just plugging the 5th gen cluster into the 4th gen ECU. I know 5th gen is OBD2 and 4th is OBD1, but are the plugs the same? I figure the 5th gen cluster will fit pretty easily into my 3rd gen, since they kind of went back to the 3rd gen's interior style then. It's too good to be true, but I figure I'd ask.
Thanks, Kango

Why do you want to change the cluster at all?

That way, I won't have to alter or to any custom wiring. It would be plug and play, and I will MAKE that 5th gen pod fit into my 3rd. If I use the 3rd gen cluster, than I have to adapt it to the 4th gen ecu.

uh no you dont. You can use the standard 3rd gen cluster, the only wires you need to connect to the ECU is the check engine light and possibly the rev counter but on a 3rd gen it's taken straight from the dizzy/coil so you can connect it there on the H22.
