5th gen with 4th gen h22a?

sorry if this question has been asked before..

but im in need of a new motor on my 5th gen lude and i found a guy selling a brand new motor for a 4th gen. he built this for his civic part for part. and i was wondering if the 4th and 5th gen h22a1 - h22a4 are able to be swapped in/out.

he's selling it at a dirt cheap price and if i could swap it in to my car with no worries it would save me a great deal of money and hassel.

thanks in advance.

yes, and the reason im looking to swap is the car will never run at its potential with the internals i have now.

my two options are rebuild the current motor or buy a new one.

and at 900 bucks.. i could never pass up a brand new h22... but i know it was "meant" for the 4th gen lude.

if it would fit. i could put it in mine and call it a day... i'd be fairly worry free for years to come.

im all about restoration and i dont wanna drive around a half-a** prelude for the next couple years. it will drive just fine if i maintain it, but i dont wanna put put in a car i wanted throughout my teenage years.

the amount it cost to rebuild mine is twice as expensive as the new motor would be.

yes, as long as you have a base prelude not sh. the tranny is different.

edit: there might be a problem with going from obd2 back to obd1.. maybe someone else knows..
