From 5th to 4th

I have a 5th gen now and want to buy a 4th gen for my racer car.
How fast do you think a 4th gen lude would be if i gutted it, i,h,e, and put in a h22a4. And is there a good year to buy or should i get a 92 5sd cheap and do a swap right away? And is there any problems with doing a 5thgen sway into a 4thgen.

I do have to agree with ArlingtonNelson. As much as I love my prelude if I was building a race car I would go with the CRX, If you plan on doing a sawp do it in a CRX they are so damn light. Put a jdm h22a with lsd in and turbo it, gut it, do the basics i/h/e, and you wont find a prelude in america that would catch you, there to damn heavy.

you'd be suprized.

my car with a generic CAI, stock exhaust, JDM motor & LSD ran a 14.5 on 22lb 17" rims.

well i have a 96 and i have a 99...and let me tell you the OBD2 on the 99 is alot stricter than what it was on the 96....i just have an intake on the 99 and i am already throwing CEL's....with the 96 i had I/H/E and didnt throw not a single code, i never had a check engine light come on...so i would have to say what has been said around here and there about the 96's its more like a obd 1.5 cause its not as stricter than the 97+

CAI should not throw codes at all... What code is it giving you?

Did you gut your car JDM lude or was that stock weight. That motor swap is exactly what I am looking to do. You ran a 14.5; not bad at all. Is that what I can expect with a jdm h22, cai, lsd and exhaust?
