5lug swap - Driveshaft length

There was a discution about the 4th gen and 5th gen driveshaft being different length so you couldn't use the 5th gen ones in a 4th gen when you're doing the 5lug swap so I checked the length of both in the Helm and here's the length of both:

4th gen right: 507.9-512.9mm
4th gen left: 520.9-525.9mm
5th gen right ATTS: 497-497.5mm
5th gen left ATTS: 485-486mm
5th gen right no ATTS: 505-510mm
5th gen left no ATTS: 484-484.5mm

I ended up using a 5th gen axle on the driver side, but a 4th gen on the passenger side. For some reason, the 4th gen replacement axle was too short, but the 5th gen was jusssst right. So far no problems, except for this awfully loud clicking noise....hehe, just kidding, no problems, for real.

the left side is 40mm off? 4cm would be really noticeable...

Ironically enough, the 4th gen axle on the drive side was shorter than the 5th gen axle. I used the 5th gen axle because the 4th gen was pulling out of the CV boot when it was installed. Go figure, I know it was the right part from Advance auto (unless someone returned a bogus core, like I did)

so what is the deal here? are u suggesting for the 5 lug swap, to use a 5th gen driver side axle? Or should we jus stick to using washers as spacers?

I would just continue to use the washers as spacers. There is no need to get all messed up with the 5th gen axles, especially since the washers work just fine.
