Not to beat a dead horse, but as for the questions you had, I do have answers to most of them. For the rear, do not replace the entire knuckle. You only need to replace that #11 assembly in the previously posted picture. This makes the rear very simple to do. As far as the 5th gen axles are concerned, one side works and the other doesn't. I posted about this issue before. I'll try and drag it up, but it is in the archives. Spacers work very well for the 4th gen axles, but you need to be careful about how you install them. Essentially you need to make sure that the axle can clear the inner diameter of the spacer. If you have other technical questions, I'm sure I could answer them ( and I would have sooner if I had internet)

As far as the purpose of a 5 lug swap, Isn't it enough to do it just for the challenge of a project? That's the only reason I have done anything on my car. I don't race, I don't need automatic climate control, and I certainly didn't need an S2000 steering wheel. I LOVE working on and modifying my car. I suspect that most of the people on this board enjoy working on their cars too.

Trident,

Why shouldn't one replace the rear knuckles???

Is there an issue of something not fitting right?

I am in the process of installing the 5th gen rear knuckles and it seems to fit in perfectly, especially if you use the 5th gen rear endlinks for the sway bar attachment.

I think the 5th gen parts are made better and are lighter than the 4th gen ones, so I'm pulling as much as I can for the lug swap, of course being limited to the parts that came with the lug swap when I purchased it.

Please let me know.

Thanks!

he's saying it would be easier to just change the rear hub instead of the entire knuckle...

I ran across this... this talks about the lengths of the front axles... quite useful.
5lug swap - Driveshaft length

i think i will try the washer with my axles. someone mentioned grinding a part down, but i have not seen a picture what they were talking about. all i need to start my swap is new tires, and 4 good rotors, brake pads and two rear brake calipers.

InterludetypeR: I can't testify to the fitment of the rear knuckles, as I did not install them in my car. I am certainly not saying they won't fit. UWMTSUM is correct, I am merely saying that it is easier, and just as effective to just replace the hub assembly (Part #11) If you are getting the entire rear knuckle to fit in without problems, though, then that is yet another viable way to do this swap. Good luck. By the way, thanks for doing my dirty work and finding that link UWMTSUM!
