i need some help, i'm about to head down to brooklyn take out all the parts i think i am gonna need for the swap. Now my question is:
1) do the ebrake cables fit properly from the 4th gen to the 5th gen?
2) do the axles fit properly as well? the 4th gen axle into the 5th gen spindle?
3) how many beers am i gonna need?
4) is it gonna be hard to install the extended studs?
two, no they do not. you need washers to make them fit right. correct me if im wrong its just what i have been reading about lately. you can use the 5th gen axle i believe
hahaha.
1# rear brakes are the same, you just reuse your rear calipers.
2#you will need some washers to use as a spacers, unless you can get the 5th gen axesl
3#I would say a 24 pack will do
4# this is a pita especially in the front, i would sugest paying for it, but if thats not an option, a hammer, with size 30 socket did the trick for me.
so far i spent
$ 300 for spindle/calipers/suspension
$ 100 on the wheels (sweet deal)
$ 65 on the extended studs (i still need 4 more since i was gonna put them on my 4 lug)
$ ??? rear rotors
$ ??? new rear pads
$ ??? the washer
$ 30 beer
oweee i did the rear, i will do the front in a few weeks, im still waiting on the extra extended lugnuts and the machine shop to take appart the hub from the bearing.
