4WS unit repair *pics*

I've read some interesting thread on ht.com about repairing a faulty 4WS unit. I don't know if it was posted also here on PO.com.

I opened the unit as described in the thread and saw 2 big and well visible cracks:





I resoldered also the other points just to be sure, because the cracks are usually not visible, this is an extrem .

I havent tried the repaired unit yet, so I can't say if it helps or not. These cracks are not good anyway.

Looks like a good fix for a very expensive unit.

I guess I was one of the lucky few that never had a problem with my 4WS.

Yes, it is really simple and helped many people.

I also didn't ahve any problems with 4WS, this is a unit of my friend.

Yup, I did the samething with mine and it works perfectly fine now.

MANY people have this issue. If don't, I would expect it to become an issue in the future. Can't be coincidence.
