4WS Steering Rack and Pinion - Honda Prelude Forum

Hey, what's up. I have a '92 Prelude (obviously) SI 4WS and it needs both rack and pinions replaced. Front and Rear. It's definate that teh front needs replaced but the rear also needs replaced I believe. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could telll me if the rear R & P would be mechanical or hydraulic. and the best place to buy new one. I can't look at it cause my baby is in Florida. I'm in Japan. Stationed here for a year and a few months left. I'm tryin to make sure all maintenance is constantly done on it in my abscence and this needs to be done. Any information would be helpful.

Replace the front first since it sounds like you're just assuming that the rear is bad when according to someone I work with who's been a tech at the dealer since the 80's he said he's never seen a bad rear rack on a 4WS 4g. They were very reliable.

It's electronic btw.
