Had my car for 4 years now, and its a 93... never had problems with the 4WS yet. Most of the problems i've heard is just a dirty sensor or a bad sensor, that's minor stuff.

Yes... drop a H22 into a 4WS.... that is definately sweetness

try to talk them down a bit though... blue book says 6300 for retail... but it can't hurt to try... I say offer 4k.... then work up to around 5500... hehe that would be SWEET

I had a 4WS for 3 years before I owned this car and I never had a problem with the system.

With the availability of 4WS ludes over there I think it would be MUCH easier and cheaper to just buy a 4WS lude than to convert one...

fleshbox - I've spent faar too much money on this lude to ever sell her

She's going S2K Silverstone Silver this week (wooot), can't wait, I could prolly buy a scraped 4WS lude for £500 and steal all the bits off it. Be an interesting project and one I think that wouldn't be that hard.... 2 days work prolly

It probably would be cheaper and easier to change car but it wouldn't be as fun

Also for those of you who got a 4WS and a 2WS Prelude, which one did you like better? Is there a big difference in handling?

I'm having probs w/ my 4ws but its most likely due to poor alignment.

Also the rear gearbox is too rusted to fit the lock pin so im looking to replace it very soon. Then, im going to get a proper alignment and keep at the dealership until its done right!

What happens is when im driving (my steering wheel isnt straight which is #1 a piss off.) I think there is a sensor in the steering column for the 4ws ... so ill be goin straight, steering wheel wont move and my car will sway left to right at highway speeds .. when theres bumps its even worse... gets scary actually ..

Also, I heard there was a recall on the 4ws angle sensor so im going to have that looked at and probably replaced also.

I have driven my 5th gen Lude while the 4WS wasn’t working and I can tell that the 4WS makes LOADS of difference to the handling. Especially parking and small roundabouts.
