4th gen temp controll unit, can anyone answer this
On my 92 the temp controll buttons don't light up. They only have a small green or orange (for defrost) light that turns on when you push the buttons. so in the dark you have to know what buttons to press for main vents/feet/ect
Now I know on the 95 and up models the power window swtches had the letters light up...is is the same for the temp controll?
also does anyone have a spare temp controll unit that works? maybe from a JDm temp unit swap that they wanna get rid of
I have a 92 Si, and all the buttons light up blue when I have the headlights or parking lights on at night. Your bulbs may be burned out or the light unit just isnt working.

OK so your picture on the buttons light up so you know what your pressing is that correct?
I need a whole new nit anyway so I guess when I swap in the new one I'll have to be sure all the bulbs are working

Mine did that for awhile! The climate control lights wouldn't always work . . .just a smack on the dash above them and presto they're are back. They seem to work fine now, weird.
mine did that and still do, every once in a while they would pop on and then go away, and smacking the dash never did it for me... i havent taken them out yet though..
don't buy a whole new unit. ONE bulb controls all of the lighting for that. You probably just have a loose connection. If you take out the control unit, there is a buld on the back in the middle. Make sure it has a good connection, and plug the unit back in. I bet that the lights will be on again.
You might want to bend the leads to make a firmer connection, or tape/jb weld the light on so that it can't rattle itself loose.

Mike it's not just for the bulb, my hot/cold slider has also busted, it moves back and forth freely but does nothing to the cable. I took the unit out to check and see if the cable just fell off but it seams as if the slider has actually busted from the inside of the unit...so I need a new one for that reason as well
great tip.....worked for me!!!
i've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to fix those stupid little lights, and 1 wack took care of it.
thanks
I also have that problem with my hot/cold slider...all the upper buttons above it light up just fine, however the hot/cold sliders didnt light up at all. I did smack it sometimes but it didnt seem to work for me. are the climax buttons & hot/cold sliders light up by a single bulb? Cuz I thought they are 2 different bulds or something cuz one upper light up or glow fine, below that the hot/cold sliders wont light up very often.

did you take the thing apart? its really simply put together, and is easy to fix. The slider button probably popped off of the spline of the slider arm (from sliding the button too hard, you big oaf )...should take about 8 phillips screws and 5 minutes to fix.
MACHINEHEAD-, actually, i think i just remembered that a tiny part popped off. Lemme make sure I have that lying around somewhere b4 i get your hopes up
