make sure your oil cap is on tight.... i made that mistake, thought i smelled gas... but what i really smelled was the oil spewing all over the engine bay

check the oil filter housing, when the seal goes bad it leaks onto the flex pipe and can smell. if you are certain its gas start at the fuel rail and work your way back.

Thanks

For the feedback checked the oil cap it was nice n tight checked the fuel rail looked fine also haven't checked the oil filter I just did complete tune up and oil change I always tight that sucker good so I don't think it'll be that another thing also I changed out my fitv and my iacv also changed my pcv cause my idle would bounce nasty and would die in neutral
So I did that and my idle feels a little better but still dies at times when im in neutral and its pretty annoying it happens when I take it out of gear im in neutral at a stop and itl go almost to zero rpms go back up and then just die
Another thing too my start idle valve isn't hooked up with my intake would that be a problem ? Cause I don't have the line to got that to the intake
Please help

I'm not sure what that means... but.... did you plug the hose that normally goes to the intake? that could cause surging idle...

preludatic

i have the hose on my intake that goes on top of the valve cover and thats hooked right but theres a round piece to the right of the iacv and it has 2 screws on top i guess its called the start idle valve and it shows under the hood that it should be going into the stock intake also but i have a cai and its doesnt have anything for it so im guessing it might have something to do with that
let me know if you have any idea this is getting me really annoyed and its not really comfortable when your car just dies out
please help
THANKS

fuel injectors? and if you have a vacuum line that isnt hooked to anything....probably should be. check your idle screw, if someone has messed with it, it could be "arguing" with your ECU, also causing your "revving"
