4th Gen Si's

Do the H23 engines in the 4th Gen Si Preludes not last as long as the F22 and H22? I know a lot of people have done the swap. I think my H23 just pooped out.

i have owned two si's and the first was a 92, it had 110k on it
when i traded it in, for my current 96 si. the only prob i had from
my 92 is the distributor and radiator. but my 96 h23 blow up
when i was runnig from a cop. well i don't think it actually blow
up, but when i was running i was doing about 130 for a few
miles and then heard a loud pop and my car slowed down
to 110 and would not go any faster. and it would always use
alot of oil for some reason, it wasn't burning or leaking it. until
after the before mentioned breakdown of the engine. but i
wouldn't know about the h22 or the f22. and it is how you
treat them, i ran mine very hard and didn't keep up maintence
on it very well. probably the reason it messed up

any motor can last a long time if you take care of it. It doesnt matter if its f22,h23 or h22. They're all great engines.

I had about 120,000 miles on my old motor before i messed it up. It was running very good until i started spraying on it. But that was my stupidity b/c i went a little overboard with it. Otherwise i think that motor would still be running like a champ. oh well, now i got a lower mileage motor.

Running 110K and no complaints on engine except to much oil consumption.

to ckchi,
no the cop did not catch me, it was a curvey interstate here in
wv. i pulled off an exit on down the road. the cop was driving
a cherokee, he never even caught up to me.

NOW AS FOR HUNTERlude,
you are terribly mistaken and you should get your damn story
stait before you accuse someone of lieing. i know what my
f!@#$ing car can do. i've raced on the highways and back
roads over wv. and i know that an 96si can do 130. so i don't
were you got your info from but either you all can't drive or are
just incopitent, i don't which, so before you try to tel lme that i'm
lieing get better info. a usdm 96 si is gear limited not speed limited, the jdm's are speed limited around 115. and to let you
know the 4th gen si's are gear limited around 130

ok HUNTERlude i just did some checking and you are a dumb f@#$ and can't remember what you post yourself. because in a thread you posted you even said you were past 130. so why are
you then telling me that i'm lieing and that there is a speed limiter at 118 when you said you also did around 130 when you were racing a 300z non-turbo. so if you are going to try and talk **** also try and remember **** too. so you don't look like a COMPLETE
DUMP F@#$!!!

Hey H23Lude,

I'm thinking about spraying and I have close to 100k on mine. How much were you spraying that killed your engine? I don't want anymore than a 50 shot anyway, would that still be too much?

here's some food for thought:

the H23 is actually a h22 block with a f22 crank and rods

craziness eh?
