4th Gen Prelude Wiper Arm Removal?

Can anybody tell me how to remove the rear wiper arm on a 4th Gen prelude? I want to repaint the arm as it's quite faded - but it's not obvious how to remove it and I don't want to damage anything.

Thanks

Sadly, us USDM Prelude owners do not have the rear wiper. Why we didn't? I have no clue, it sure would be helpful since the rain water just sits on the window without it. There are a few UK Owners here who may be able to help you though.

wow the water just sits on it? cause where i live (WA) its rains constantly, and im always amazed how little water actually stays on the back. I have NEVER had visibility problems because of rain..and i would NEVER put a stupid rear wiper on my car either cause they are ugs!

On mine it does. It sucks. Maybe I should put rain-x on the rear window or something.

You should. If not Rain-X, then just use some car wax or polish, it will be cool since there is no wiper back there anyhow.

what is rain

I don't have the problem either. I think the previous owner put some sort of treatment on because I can get away with out using the front ones if I had to.

I also have to agree with Marsh, I've never had a problem with visability and I personally don't like the way the wiper looks back there. It sticks out like a sore thumb.

Viva USDM!

Sorry I don't know how to take it off.

I wax my rear window with Meguiars #1 step cleaner wax everytime I wash my car. In a slight rain I don't have to use my wipers. It is so awesome to watch the water bead and just fly away! I suggest it to everyone! Just stay away from the moldings!

mine just sits there too, pisses me off, makes me drive faster but sadly it doesn't help

I **** u not when I say I was thinking of fabricating a Civic Hatch/Mustang looking device that forces air into the rear windshield to push the water off.

Hey, I noticed your sig... Where did you get those tail lights? I think they look awesome. I wonder if they would look good on a red prelude. You have a black one and yours actually match.

It's really simple. Just lift the plastic cover at the base of the arm to reveal the nut holding it on.

Here's a pic to make it even easier for you...

U.K. comes through once again.

Are those speaker covers sun faded or they stock color? Mine are pretty black right now and I just want to know if mine will fade over time.

Not sure, they've always been that colour. Could be faded, could be JDM? If they are, I'll Ebay them for $300 Some mug will buy them...

Actually, I want them to be black. Hmmm...pay the dealer too much money for new ones or have a bash with the old spray can?
Time to get the paint out

That's your best bet, fabric dye. I think the product of choice is made by Sim's.

I think that is how it spelled.

Thanks for the response UK VTEC. I assumed that was how it came off - as with almost all wiper arms, however when I tried to lift if up, it didn't budge and I was afraid to go crazy with it in case it broke. I'll try again later - cheers.
