4th gen honda prelude rear turn signal bulbs help !

hey guys.

im sort of new to this sight, been researching about my rear turn signal bulbs and i notice that the bulb type on a 4th gen is 3497. i recently changed my tail lights to altezza's, which has clear lens for the turn signal and i was wondering if there are any 3497 amber type bulbs out there.

i also came across that a 3497 bulb is also has a replacement 1156 L.E.D bulb and i was wondering if that will work on a 4th gen prelude.

sorry for being nooby, just need to know if i can find a 3497 amber bulb or if a 1156 L.E.D bulb will fit.

oh, as well is it possible to just paint over the stock bulb a light coat of yellow ?

yes 1156 will fit and there are millions of Amber ones on ebay

eBay - 1156 Super Amber 63 LED Light Bulb 1141 1073 3497 7506, Similar items search

You can probably also Google 3497 and find those in amber as well

According to this site they cross. This site is also the best placetoget LED bulbs in my opinion. I have bought from many places and had the best results using this place hands down.

LED Brake Light, Turn Light and Tail Light Bulbs - Super Bright LEDs

If you go LED, your turn signals will probably flash fast.

I have used these on many applications andthey work good too.

4x 1156 Amber Chrome Light Bulbs Park Signal Lamps 3497 | eBay

If you get a regular orange bulb, get one that has been chromed over. That way the housing is clear when they are off and look so much better IMOP.

btw, when i put the new LED bulbs in they did flash fast, is it because they're LED and need more energy to power them? or less power?

They take less and that is why they flash fast. They flash fast when you have a regular bulb burned out so you realize it. To cure this you need a load resistor wired in.

As for the reason they aren't that bright is because they don't reflect off the reflector inside the lamp as much as a standard bulb. LED's have less viewing angle than standard bulbs. May want to search out info on that and find better bulbs.
