4th b pipes the same as 5th gen?

Does anyone here know if the b-pipes from a 96 4th gen is the same as the 5th gens? I mean the fitment and not the size or material. Basically the cat back piping to the muffler. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

I'm gonna hafta say no on this one. Expecially considering the 96 cat is a different length than any other prelude, and I believe the difference is made up on the B-pipe being shorter. Generally 4th and 5th exhaust systems aren't interchangeable. 4th and 5th headers are also differnet lengths.

Well crap. I was thinking of joining the group buy for 3" exhuast pipes and he 'believes' previous piping (meaning '96) pipes should fit. I have a muffler and resonator already and would just need the piping. The price was pretty damn good so I was really hoping, but oh well. Thanks for the info.

well I think you could get away with cutting the exhaust piping shorter cause the 96 cat is longer....just get him to measure if you can...but you'd still have to weld the flange on

When it comes to exhausts, nothing is impossible ;-). A friend of mine is running on a custom made system, part audi, part mercedes and part "fixed" cat. All this on a peugeot 405 GRi. Works like a charm and has a very cute sound. Gotta love it :-).
