I'm tired, so please correct me.
Ok, the early H22A1's were open deck, the H22A4's are closed deck.
the 93-95 are closed deck and the 96 and later cars are open deck.
open deck is: the blocks that have the floating piston bores and then you go out and waste 110 dollars to put a plate in there that doesn't help unless you are building a pure race motor or you have a turbo running over 20 pounds of boost.
OBDI: On Board Diagnostics series 1--less emissions equipment, lower standard, and easier to modify the engine without the computer flipping out on you. AKA: much better than OBDII

Also, 4th gen H22a had peak and hold fuel injectors while the 5th gen H22a has saturated injectors. Several engine sensors are also in different locations. For example, on the 5th gen, the crank position sensor is near the crank while on the 4th gen it's in the distributor housing.
I have a fourth gen and I thought that my engine was OBDI H23?
or was I all confused and got that wrong
its an si so its non v-tec.....
By the way is it harder to turbo a DOHC than a SOHC?
I have a lot of other questions too...I'll post them when I get some more money for my baby
