140-155ish.

thats the range you should be in i believe.

I just did 190 x .8... gives you a good estimate.

So you lose about 20% of flywheel hp to the wheels? Ouch

um.... dont use 0.8. dont use any number and just claim that that is the generic number for hp to the wheels. the only way to truly find out is a dyno.

Well then, in your opinion, what is the average whp for the 4g vtec?

check www.hondaprelude.com and read the dyno posts under Resources.

I was off, most the cars in the 4th gen dyno registry put down high 170's and 180's. with just i/h/e and some others went higher with internals.

I guess 160ish for stock, but as was said before only true way to find out is to dyno it, every car is different.

Supposedly 4th gen vtecs put more hp down to the wheels than the 5th gens. 5th gens usually put down about 160ish, so figure maybe 165-170ish. I know Dr.James has dynoed many 4th gen vtecs and he always said that every 4th gen he dynoed put more hp to the wheels than all the 5th gens he's worked with. I even think he said he had one that put down a little over 170 to the wheels stock. We'll see, i may be wrong or i may be right. We'll find out once he replies to this but i have a gut feeling that i'm right.

You're right ... 5G Ludes ain't sh!t!!! I'm no Tony Fuchs or Stephen Papadakis, but I drive a 4G w/ simple bolt on mods, and I stomp all over 5G Ludes, all day. They get pretty angry when they're taken out by a 4G Si... hahahahah

WHP

From all the dynos i've seen,

Both 4th and 5th gen normally put 160WHP in stock conditions. Even if Honda claimed a +5 and +10 HP gain for the 5th gen.

Ususally, 16-18% tranny/differentiel loss for a 4th gen.

5th gen with ATTS has 25% loss approx.

just my 0.02...
