Given the choice between the beat to death prelude vs. running '79 camaro...camaro gets it. Why are you limited to those 2 options? Neither one is all that appealing. Will it be your daily driver?
I knew it had to be an AD off a craigslist type website. You'll find all sorts of scams for cars there. They keep getting better and better. Have you actually talked to the seller of the Rx7 on the phone and do you live within driving distance to actually see the car in person and buy it face to face?
we both live in jacksonville and i will see the car before buying it also take it to a shop and get it tested. i have emailed him my number so i can set up a date and time to see the car.
There's no way that rx7 is $3500. Those things go for 10k plus. That's either a scam or something is seriously wrong with that car. That or the seller is an idiot.

bahaha that prelude is ugly as SH*T! id say check out the rx7 most likely its a scam stolen blah blah but just get it checked out......thats one badass car, but if it doesn't turn out go for the camaro. You can mod the camaro for cheap and actually see gains unlike a prelude.

There is no way that is a legit sale for the rx7. That has scam written all over it. That car is worth at least 10 times that price. As for the camaro:
Yes, it is much easier to get horsepower out of it than it is with the prelude BUT
1)It is a 30 year old car, and expecting it to be reliable enough to be a daily driver is way overly optimistic. Expect that car to need constant work to stay running.
2) Insurance for a v8 rwd coupe for an 18 year old is going to be brutal. Also add to the operating cost the absolutely terrible gas mileage I am sure that thing gets, then add the constant maintenance the car will require. Make sure you can afford to keep the car on the road before you go that route.
3) Do you really feel the need to witness the shortcomings of a carbed engine first hand? On a DD no less?
I think your best bet would be to find an early 90's turbo 240sx or supra for the price you are willing to spend. Reliability/Affordability would be MUCH better than a 30 y/o camaro.

well i found them on aol's car list check my second link there are 125 rx7 that are 91 and up under 5g
1. the camaro has been completely redone and has 10,000miles on the new engine
2. insurance for me is $47 a month due to all my discounts(student, multi car, ect..) and insurance company(geico) will only let me have miniuim coverage on it since i do not have a garage.
3. i know more about the older cars than i do the new ones like 83 and up, also i know how to work on classics
as for 240sx no I do not care for as for the supra i would only get one if its a 93 or higher.

93 and newer supra for $4000, what are you thinking man??? There is no ****ing way you will get that car for that price, or a last gen rx-7 for that matter. You need to lower the bar big time with the budget you are working with here.
I don't think you learned anything from the dogged out and beat to hell prelude that just died on you right after you bought it. If the price of a car seems too good to be true, it is...move on. If 4k is all you have to spend on a new car you should be much more concerned with the condition of the car you get rather than the hp rating.
You you just need to get a Mustang GTR with the rotary motor in it. They run 11's at the track, they go for like $4700 now on smartestkidwithdowns.com. Check out the video......
