3rd to 4th slippage....

I have just finished my h23 vtec hybrid and now that i have it all together i have noticed that the auto transaxel is slipping between 3rd and 4th.... The transaxel did not have this problem before the engine build up...any one know what may cause thiis slip? I'm running B&M synthetic dextron III fluid in the transaxel.... the trans has 10x,xxx miles and like i said the problem was not there before....

thanks

What exactly do you mean by the auto transaxedl is slipping. The tire is breaking loose? or it is grinding? Im not sure exacltly what you mean.

The "Slippage"

you see... first, second, and third go in with a mean kick but when its time for 4th...3rd disengages and then there is a sec or two of just no engagement and the rpm go up about 2k then...Bam 4th is in with another mean kick. I noticed that when i drive it in D3 then shift it to D4 at speed there is no lag just a kicker shift. it only slips when its in D4 and is shifting from 3rd to 4th....I think im going to remove the valve solenoids and see if there may be anything obstructing the oil flow....

anyone have any other ideas? i adjusted the detent cable correctly and am full of fluid.... hey would overfilling the trans be a bad thing? just wondering because i still have one quart of the B&M fluid left... I emptied the converter and the trans so i put in 6 quarts... think there might be air trapped in the system?

check your tranny fluid.

too much and the fluid boils over creating air bubbles.

too little and yeah, umm... it doesnt work that well.

change ur fluid and get a tranny fluid cooler....this sounds like how my tranny went.....starts slipping between 3rd and 4th then it wont get outta second gear then death...but change the fluid and cooler and if after a week or so and its the same take it to a tranny shop and have em crack it open because one of ur gears maybe shot (teeth missing)
