$20 Ebay intake

Please forgive me if this has been discussed numerous times.

I see there are numerous intakes on ebay for around $20. Are they okay to use? I am just looking to improve my gas mileage and throttle response. I can't afford an AEM intake or anything like that anytime soon. Should I just wait and get a name brand or is the $20 intake worth it for now?

Thank you!

overpriced intakes like v2 = lame

some intake info, which shows v2 barely > type s > stock > short ram intake, which suprised me.

link

with the testing, i wonder if it was performed with or without the resonator/air flow control thing under the bumper cover. my guess is it's without.

Ebay pipe ftw.

I got some generic piping with a 3" AEM Filter with the Butterfly Valve/Intake Resonator Removed.

^ Total Cost
About $90.00 for Tubing, Misc. Hardware, and Filter, (the filter costing the most out of the bunch).

yeah unless there you have a crazy turbo setup or something then just get an ebay one. no point in spending so much money for really no power gain at all.

totally agree. You should definitely save up for the V2 if you have a decent turbo setup. You may also wanna consider a good set of headers.

This is the $20 ebay intake. I just put it on today, It fit pretty good. The lower hose (antifreeze) is too short so you need to use the hose that comes with it which is a little too big so you need to use good hose clamps.
It has good sound, not loud. Took about 10 minutes to put in. shipping was free and was here in 2-3 days from Canada. haven't driven it yet so no word on gains I'm guessing not enough to notice in power.
i know i need to change the hoses i will when i get to town again. It also has exaust and a good cd player, speakers in it.15" rims are to small but good for now
Also this is the 800.00 prelude
