Well, its not full Prelude. But.... I found a guy selling a 1993 VTEC Prelude without engine and tranny for $600. Can you say JDM? Anyways, I know this is a good deal, and I'm one lucky SOB but how much would a Type-S H22 cost me? I was thinking $3500. And anyone who is in GA would be of even greater help.
there is a H22 with some of the Type-S internals on ebay right now. It might be easier to just get an H22a and then upgrade to some of the Type-S internals. I'm in Georgia also BTW. Where are you getting this car from? Is ti complete except for the engine and trans? Condition? (dont worry, not going to steal it from you, just curious)
The person selling the car says that there is minor front end damage that is easy to repair and that the radiator needs "support". Other than that it is a 1993 VTEC and it is only lacking the engine and tranny. The car is not in GA though, it's in CT. The owner will ship it to me if I pay the charges. My only problem is getting my parents to let my buy it. I am 16 and looking for my first car.
connecticut eh? hehe, thats close to me. i already have one but i can always use the parts.
i'll let you have a chance.
radiator supports shouldn't be too hard to fabricate or fix.
maybe ask the guy if he can send you pictures and a repair estimate, so you know what you're getting into. either way 600 is still good.
a used and running g4 si prelude will run 6+. vtecs more.
if you can get a good deal on the jdm and install it yourself its definitely the way to go. but if you're gonna have to pay to install and fix, etc maybe not the best way. could end up costing as much as a used car. but of course you'll be jdm...maybe it does seem the way to go
i know in my situation. i could do all but the body myself. i'd buy it in a heartbeat. think it over.

Hell I'm trying to just all over it too, but my damn parents won't even give it consideration. I wouldn't mind paying the extra cause I would have a JDM engine and a bit more HP than all other Ludes in my area so I think it would be a trade off between cost and performance.
What was damaged?, Hopefully its just a cracked up nose or something, then all I would need to do is to get a body kit. But, does anyone know a good way to convince my parents to let me buy the car, help me out here guys.
um because, airbags are designed to deploy if you hit something with the front of the car, and if there is front end damage, even "mior" damage, the airbags could be deployed.

My car got: new hood, new front bumper, new radiator, straighten radiator support, front emblem, and repaint new body panels. Ran about $4000. That was a 8 mile an hour hit to a Buick.
I emailed that dude (u say his post on HP.com eh?)....asking for more detail and perhaps some pics..he responded with 2 sentences..sounding like the HULK
I was interested in getting an engine, tranny, fix it..drive that and sell my present lude, or turn if full race..but I pretty much forgot about it after his half assed response..get more info first, find out EXACTLY what kinda front end damage it was

Originally posted by VTEC1994 TheGreatOne, did what did he say? He too also responded with one or two sentences, and did you get any pictures out of him?
Nope, no pictures...he was like "Body good, no engine or tranny...minor front end damage, easy fix"
I thought that was alittle non-chalant, especially if you are trying to sell something. Even if maybe his english isn't good or something he still could have gave more info. I asked for more detail and thats what he game me
Unless he can sum up the condition of his car in more than a sentence and has some picc..I'd stay away, thats just my opinion
good luck
