Reliable? uhm, well i guess it all comes down to mileage and how you drive... my car isnt reliable, but its not the cars fault. Im young. I dont know much about the autos... And the tune up thing just depends on what you get. my dizzy cap and rotor was like 25 dollars, plugs might be 3 something a peice depending on what you get, and wires should be about 35.

I'd say the auto 4th gens are a lot more reliable than auto 5th gens but they're still not great automatic transmission. Mine was great for 5 years and 65,000 miles, bought it with 60,000 miles 5 years now not it has 124,000 and my transmission just crapped out. Of course that was from age 16-21 where I'd shift through it like a stick shift and drive it like an ass. I also didn't do a transmission drain/re fill until about 90,000 miles and it helped a lot but being slammed I developed some cracks in the tranny case..otherwise it would've probably lasted a lot longer :/

All in all, it's a decent transmission and can be reliable as a DD.

dizzy/cap n rotor spark plugs n wires from Honda (I recommend it) is like $100 or so.
