1993 Honda Prelude Si Project

First of all i would like to say hello, my name is Marco and i am a proud owner of this lovely car, but here is the deal. A few months ago my engine started making banging noises but it still runs...im afraid to drive because i can f' if even more. Now, the plan is to rebuild the engine. I have found online a whole kit
HTML Code:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320619481779&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT#ht_2845wt_941
but im not sure what type of engine nor what it has i mean, i bought this car used, rebuilt the Cylinder Heads but the mechanic has not told me anything about the car, so i was wondering, which i do so may times a day, if any could help me? I mean how to identify the engine, and from then on, what parts can i upgrade?

Every time i Google for parts i see so many i dont know which one will fit and make my car faster. I am a total newbie at this and i need guidance, i mean i want to know more about my car what i can do to it and become one with the car, but alas i live in a small town and i am deprived of this knowledge. I go online and cant find guides, nor videos, and im getting frustrated....

PS: The engine is, as far as i believe the original engine that came with the car, i know its not VTECH for the VTECH letters are not on the engine....all help will be going to good use.....

Ok, welcome to the forums!

First of all it's spelled VTEC, but it's ok, this is the last time you said VTECH. Say it again and trolls will haunt you at night, and never leave you alone.

The engine code is easy to find.

also check this link for more help: what kind of engine do I have

Tell us what code you see on your engine block. I also don't think that kit you posted is any good. It looks cheaper than Al Bundy and the quality looks ****ty.

Hello again!

Well i found the Engine Code

Now i was wondering, where can i find parts either OEM or Performance for the engine? Here are more pics of the engine and the prelude.

Anything that you can think of will be greatly appreciated.

Sorry i misspelled VTEC, it was at night and i was just typing with checking my post.

Once again thank you!

If the engine is toast and you seek more power swap in a H22 but at the same time don't start trying to get into modding a car if you don't know how to work on it. You'll just waste a ton of money paying someone to work on your car all the time.

Well you see i dont know if the engine is fried since i did rebuild the cylinder heads without checking the lower(?) block. I hear a banging noise but i dont know what that could be. Some mechanics tell me i could do an engine overhaul or just plainly replace the engine. But there is a problem there too....i dont know where to get my hand on an engine that would fit the 'lude nor a replacement.....is there anyway to do a complete engine overhaul?
