1992 Prelude jdm F22b sohc non-vtec "skipping and hesitating" while driving problem!
I just did an engine swap from a stock f22a1 to a f22b (both sohc non-vtec).
I have been using premium fuel type (91) before and after the swap.
Just today I filled my car up with gas...of course 91!
As soon as I started to take off my car started to be "jumpy" and "skipping" and "hesitating" ??? Like it wanted to stall?
Its not like i wasnt able to drive, but everytime between shifts the car would do that! At fast speeds like above 45 mph it wouldnt do this. If you were in the car you could feel and hear this problem becuz the car would quickly rock. Its like the car wants to go but the car aint giving any gas! Its like its hesitating to go.
I may have sum idea that it be somethin to do with the fuel consumption (injectors, fuel type, fuel line), timing belt, intake ????
The car used to idle irregularly, from 1500 down to 1000 rpm, vice versa. I cleaned the IACV and now it idles great!
I checked the engine...no leaks, timing belt is tight, sounds good when idling yet it did it for a second then stopped and never happened again while the car idled. Its currently idling at 1000 rpm.
If you know anything of this problem please reply!
And dont reply with sumthin dumb, dont waste my time! And dont waste yours!
