Sup Prelude Online,
I have a 92 si that is about to go through a major transformation. It is my daily driver, so it needs to be relatively practical, but I live in SoCal so I don't worry about rain or snow or any of that crap. Here is the deal, I have decided to go with a WW Bigmouth front w/Kaminari sides and rear. I am vascillating between two things:
One:
Is there a major sight difference between Eibach pro's and Sportlines? Does the added .7" drop significantly F up the ride/ground clearance? I don't want to have to plan my life (and gas stops) around clearance and I don't want to feel like I don't have a suspension. if the Pro's get rid of enough of that huge gap between the tires and fenders I would get those, but I couldn't find anyone in the DB who didn't have the sportlines. (BTW I have always been partial to Eibach) Anybody running Eibach's with the 1" drop?
Two:
17's or 18's? I know this is opinion, what I am asking is benefits vs. downfalls? Is there significant ride difference? Too harsh with 18's, too slow off the line, messes up the speedo etc... I was set on going 17 until I saw how great the 18's looked. I am sure there was an old thread on this, but I am new to this board so be kind and hook a brotha up.
So far I like this board, I am a newbie to PO but I like the lack of flaming etc...6 bucks well spent for me.
I have ProKit springs on 17s, I would definately recommend them, they are good for the smooth mountain roads, and can take the abuse from the nasty city roads (Tires play a role there too)
So all-in-all, i would go with 17s. as for springs, I havnt driven on sportlines, but I do like my pro-kit, so I would recommend those
good luck

i say if u go wit a body kit then go wit the pro kit, i use to have sportline on but from what it looks if i put a kit on it its gonna b tough driving around n goin up driveways. right now im using pro kit wit wwrs wit 17s and its fine driving around
I know it isn't part of your options but you might consider Ground Control Coilovers. I have had mine for a little while and love the ride and adjustability of them. You can get your car to the right height and if you are having some problems just raise it up a bit. For a more daily driver approach I went with 17s. You still get some of the looks. They are typically lighter in weight. They are less likely to bend and you can still get a wide range of different styles. You can increase your tire size more on 17s so you won't have any rub issues and better protection from bent wheels.
I'm telling you all this because it is the road I have taken and I drive my car everyday. I haven't had any problems with my car and streetable driving.

Right now I have KYB AGX struts and I'm not running a camber kit. My car is sitting about 1.5-1.6 so I'm gonna wear out the rest of my 711s and see how bad it is before I get the camber kit. So far I haven't noticed any uneven tread wear.
I have the kit that you are thinking about getting and I am lowered about 1.75" on TIEN's. I still think the ride is comfortable with my 18's but you definitely have to be carefull and aware of your surroundings. I think you should get the 18's with the car and only lower the car about 1.5" the most if it is your daily driver. The look of the Big Mouth bumper demands a larger wheel - 17's look a bit too small with the big bumper.
Hey thanks for the replies. I am days away from infusing way too much cash into an 11 year old car and I can't wait. This board is great. If all goes according to plan, I should have downloadable quicktime movies of all my installs. Regarding the coilovers, what is the fundamental difference between an Eibach/Bilstein combo and coilovers? I like the idea of adjustable ride height, but what is the trade off? Other than cost I mean. You guys rock, Thanks for the info. -ProZach
I bought my Ground Control coilovers for 350 shipped. They use an Eibach spring and do come in different spring rates depending on what function you want out of them.
If you install them correctly you won't have any problems.
