17" wheels for 93' prelude

I wanted to upgrade my stock rims for a aftermarket 17" wheels. What range should the offset be for a 93' Prelude. I thought the stock wheel was around 55 offset. All after market wheels range from 0 to around 42 offset. The higher offset are more expensive. The dealer here in southern california recommends a 40 to 42 offset for this year, is this true. Any opinions on the proper offset

how much are you lowered?

for 17x7 wheels a 40-42 offset will be ok. I would try to get at least +42 offset or higher. A +40 will work also but might rubbed slightly depending how much you're lowered. I gone through several sets of rims so i know from experience.

also do a search..there are lots of talk about wheels and offset.

wheels

I still have stock springs. I just do not want the tires and rims to protrude out of the wheel well

Honestly, I would suggest lowering your car first then get the wheels or buy the springs and rims at the same time...it looks kinda off with 17's and stock height

When I bought my fisrt set of 17's I knew nothing about offset, just a 114 bolt pattern..luckily it was a 42 offset, you will be fine with that

I run 7x17 with a 40mm offset and it's lowered about an inch.
No rubbing at all.
