OK i just sold my 94 grand cherokee for 10g's just wondering what i should spend it on.... im not quite sure.
i have around 6g's banked already sooo that puts me at appox. 16g's here are my ideas:
1. Turbo lude
2. New rims tires and some heavy engine mods to 97 accord
3. Lift my excursion and put a new sound system in it(uhhh winter daily driver)
4. Put a down payment on a brand spankin new S2000(im kinda serious bout this)
5. Save the money
6. Buy a couple beater omni's and what not and uhh beat the **** out of them.( I really mean BEAT the **** out of them. such as mudding and what not.)
7. any other suggestions are open.

i would suggest buying a couple race cars to have fun with...
if i didnt have my lude, i would have a beater daily driver and a couple race cars...
a cruiser class car to take to the local superspeedway (an old boat)
some sort of budget drag car (crx? omni? classic?)
a budget rally car (a la sport compact car magazine)
of course for the purchasing of those three cars wouldnt take any more than 5g MAX the rest would go for makein em fast ( and safe) and those damn entry fees i guess...
i dont know if u read my post about amonth ago saying i was buying a mustange. well that deal fell through but my plans were like urs, mudding, burnouts, e-breakes, bleach, auto-x, rally, ramp, roll ect ect.
maybe if u dont want to go all out on s2000 will ya settle for a wrx?
or maybe start building a hybrid... with a prelude shell... i think iremember someone doin that on this board... frame engine and dirive shaft from s2000 under a prelude shell....
so what do uthink of our ideas or not, they helpin u out or just makin it tougher?
all good idea's (especially the turbo omni's finnally some one has some humor like me ) yeah but im really not quite sure bout payments on the honda 2k ..... note im 17 years old but i am really really in love with those.... yeah i have put a wrx in mind but i would rather get my hands on a good condition 300zx fairlady z.... but those are tough to find. that car is really the only other car i would look for. other then that it would be iffy if i want to spend money on to many others. yeah my high school and college life is taken care of already alla parents who wont let me live off my money cause they think i wont make it... which they said they are willing to spend as much as they need to get me a good education and a good job... so that means good house good garage good food and im set... hehe so not till im on my own i dont ahve to worry bout a house but i got one more year of high school and i am young and foolish.... supra supra supra... im not sure bout that... if i find one that i like it will be put into consideration...
thanks for the ideas any others?

Keep your prelude as a good reliable daliy driver, and put the money into a second project car.
If I had 10 G's I would go for a Porsche 951 (944 Turbo). Pretty fast, and was the best handling car until the Ferrai testarosa came out. Its RWD, a near perfect weight distribution (49/51 or so), pretty fast with a turbo, and has a lot of potential. if you put a few bucks into the motor it will whip Turbo Ludes. As it is it will whip a lude, ITR and just about any non-exotic car (even pre993 911s) on just about any track aside from the drag.
I am presently saving for an 944 project, but cant afford a turbo.
If you dont liek the porsche (I admit the styling is a bit outdated), I would sell the Lude and with al that money buy a 300zx TT, or a nice Porsche 968 cab (6speed)
Insurance and maintanence is higher on both otpions, but both will be faster than an S2k, and even with maintanence still cheaper. The 951, for one, can outhandle the s2k too.
Just my 2 cents. I mean turbo ludes are cool, dont get my wrong, but for the money it just does not have the potential especially as FWD and a poor weight distribution.

1st off, my friend had a 944. And the prelude i have now was also his. The prelude VTEC can beat a 944 hands down. As for the turbo, if it is stock, I can beat it now with the mods i have. Yes a modded Turbo 944 or 944 S would be fast. But a Turbo lude is also very fast. If you have not driven a turbo VTEC prelude, then don't knock it just yet. It's fast and that is why i'm going to boost. As for the $$$ if your only 17 yrs old, I would just turbo that prelude of yours. Save the rest for a rainy day or when a car that does come out or a car that you do happen to run into, u will have $ to buy that car. I'm only 21, and I want a new car as well like the new EVO or my M3, but I'm saving the rest for a house. As for the S2k, eh, it isn't all that, I know alot of people who have them, yea they are nice lookin cars, but they also have alot of problems. One of the main probs i've been seeing with the S2k is the tranny. And the other one was oil leaks... Anyhow.. 16k is alot of cash... spend it wisely. Cars depreciate, meaning you loose money on it, house and property usually go up which would mean, make you money.

I never said the 944 n/a's were fast... They are not, they are about as fast as a prelude si. The turbo's are fast though, and with slight modifications (even just a chip) you can make very good power. The turbos with moderate work can easily take a turbo prelude, thats all Im saying - and they will probably cost less than the lude once your get done building your lude's internals.
All im saying is that a turbo VTEC Perlude would be fast, but for the money I dont think it is worthwhile. For the same money a 951 will be faster, since its RWD it wont have the same traction issues, plus it will still out handle the lude anyday.
Thats all Im saying, take it how you wanted. Turbo Ludes are cool, but I just think there are better uses of the money, even on a different car.

well around here a turbo 944 is about 10k, you can find a 93 vtec lude for about 4-6k. Spend 3k on a turbo and u will have a fast car. Yea, i kno the 944 is rwd and with the chip its pretty impressive. Like i sed, my friend used to own one so i kno wut a 944 can do. Well, when you get ur 944 turbo you can run me...
