1000ft help

ok here is the deal most peps say a lude will run 12 something sec 1000 feet times I ran 13.5 the first time I have ever driven the 1000ft but my reaction time was a full sec and I have 17" privats with hard rubber yokos avids on the car it would not hook up it just spun the tires half way down the track I felt like an ass seeing my tricked out prelude lose to gtps and a 1957 chevy but I think it had a corvette engine ... THIS Sucks any help please

Post up your slip. Don't be sad you lost to a GTP, those are fast. 13.5 is pretty bad though. What was your 60ft? I see stock Si's run 12.8-12.9 pretty easily. I ran 12.44 personally with I/Pulleys.

I'm also on arimport BTW.

my reaction time sucked it was like 1.3 secs and my tires would not hook up I spun all the way through third gear I think I might try to swicth back to my factory 15s on some soft goodyears and see if that helps

Reaction time doesn't matter unless you're bracket racing. R/T doesn't affect your E/T. Post up the slip.

I do not have the slip a 13.58 is slow I have an se with leather and I weight 200 lbs so that could have had something to do with it or it could be that the mods I did which include exhaust header intake slooowed the car down I think it would run faster stock ....

It would be SO much easier to help you if you had the slip. We could tell how bad/good your launch was and see if that's what's giving you a slow time before you just throw down $$$ to get something else. Do you happen to remember your trap speed? Mine was 86.XXMPH for comparison.

here it is

R/T - 1.3187
60ft 2.5276
330ft 6.8853
1/8 et 10.5688
1/8 mph 67.98

1000 mph 72.58

it was the first time I have ran it and the car will hopped 3-4 times and spun the tires crazy

Your 60ft is pretty bad. 2.2X is ideal but 2.3X is pretty good still on street tires. I can only manage 2.3X at that track.

Your trap seems low too. Look here: http://www.arimport.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1567 and compare it to the other cars. I would have thought you would trap at least 80MPH.

Compression check? How many miles on the car?

re: times

yeah the engine does have 140,xxx miles on it and the car is ten years old so that could have something to do with it although it doesn't burn or use much oil and I think compression is fine that was the first time I ran it -- yes the car would not hook up I want vtec anyway so that is why i am thinking about swapping engines .....

shift points

it could have been the way i shifted as well because I took it to redline -- the h23 has a sweet spot crossover point where u aren't making anymore power and u can lose some time that a way but not sure
