Ok guys, I am coming up on my 100,000 mile mark and I need to know what I should do for a tune-up. When I bought the car with 72,000 miles I replaced cam gears, crankshaft, water pump, timing belt, lots of seals n gaskets... I'm just curious if there is anything in particular I should check or tune @ 100,000 miles. I have never had a valve adjustment or compression test...Is this something I should consider?
you replaced your crankshaft?!?
yeah you should definately adjust your valves if they haven't been done yet. also may wanna check your clutch for wear if you have a manual.
Crank....why?
Cam gears....why?
rod and main bearings???
Do the valve adj.
good idea on the clutch DanYo
brake pads
spark plugs
plug wires not needed though
cap and rotor
air filter
oil change if needed
I'm stoppin here
Ok, so WHY did you replace your crankshaft? Was there a particular reason, or were you like, "hmm, new car, don't know what it's been through, lets change the crank?" Or what?... I'm just curious, not hatin'.
I'm comin up on 130k on my '92 Si. She's still purrin!

ok, ok... So when I first bought the car it had 72,000 miles on it. At the time I wasn't really into cars, or imports at all for that matter. All I can say is this Prelude has become quite a new hobby for me...wait...addiction. So my dad thought that when I first bought it, it would be a good idea to replace all the cam seals and gaskets, water pump, timing belt, and crankshaft just to be safe. For what reason he wanted to replace the crankshaft I have no idea, I think it was just a precautionary measure.
Now that I'm all into hooking up my car, that whole precautionary spending spree that my dad paid for when I bought the car seems like wasted money. I could have upgraded a lot of part for the money he spent on OEM parts... OH WELL... The things you learn!
^^^ very nice lude, I have a 94 milano red si. I have big plans for it this week... Sitting in my house right now are JDM black housing headlights, JDM clear fogs w/ switch, amber signal lights and parking lights. A new freshly painted bumper ... still looking for a fender. Also, a H23 tranny, and still waiting the arrival of my EXEDY organic clutch, Kaitan lightened flywheel (chromoly one piece). Those are going to be the newest mods. I'm going to be respraying the whole car soon too, and I'm still debating on the Quaife LSD. I can't wait to finally put all this together.
hi, whats the deal on the tunes.... i am about to hit 134k on my 93 vtec and the only thing i know that has been changed are my plugs, wires and all my belts. what do i need to do? i burn a lot of oil. thanks,
nate

At 90k you're supposed to change all your fluids too, except for coolant, which you do at 105k. You can also do cap and rotor... rotate tires. I'm gonna try the fuel filter soon but it's not recommended till 120k
Should you just order a new fuel filter from the dealer or what would be recommended? I'm at 127k, and I've owned my car since 104k, and I haven't changed it, so I'm pretty sure it's time.

I've heard that the fuel should only be replaced with stock so ya, I'd grab one from a dealer. On big items I usually order off the web but here you'll probably just save a couple bucks but have to wait for shipping.
would aem fuel pressure regulator, filter, and fuel rail be the way to go to upgrade your fuel system? what is the difference from stock and are there any advantages in doing this?
I don't know what your mods are but from everything i've read there is no need to get those unless you are doing some serious mods to your car. some people get FPR after i/h/e/p. Even the FMAX turbo kit only upgrades your injectors. Honda's are known to run rich.
